This is what was going to happen on the Loch

Welcome to a new era of cruising on Loch lomond

On Loch Lomond James Fisher and Sons of Barrow in Furness, Cumbria and the Sea Management Corporation of Queensland, Australia, have joined together to form a new Company "Maid of the Loch Ltd. Together, we are serious in our commitment to provide an unrivalled service to the community and to the many thousands of visitors who come to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of the Loch.
The name of the Company - "Maid of the Loch Ltd" has been chosen because it sums up beautifully the aims of the new Company which are firstly to restore this fine vessel to her former glory and secondly to bring new ideas, new investment and new standards to cruising on the loch. James Fisher and Sons, established in 1847, are ship owners and ship managers operating throughout the World; Sea Management Corporation, whose Chief Executive, Stuart Ballantyne, is a son of Dumbarton, is a highly successful Australian Company, which builds and operates passenger and day cruising vessels in Australasia and the South Pacific. During last winter, the "Countess Fiona" underwent a refit, which has much improved undercover facilities for passengers. Plans to restore the "Maid of the Loch" are in hand.

In the autumn of 1989 there will be an addition to our fleet. A 350-passenger catamaran is nearing completion in Australia and should be in Scotland in late summer for final fitting out. She is to be called "Lady of the Loch" and is designed to offer the very highest quality of service.

She will be engaged on scheduled cruising duties but there will also be a particular emphasis on private charter for business conferences, wedding and other celebrations and receptions as well as special interest cruises all with the attendant hospitality and high quality catering.
In short, we intend to contribute to the preservation of Loch Lomond's cruising heritage and to enrich its future.
