Hello,
Five years ago I fell in love with a guy from Clydebank and at the same time I also fell in love with your wonderful Country. Now, the man left me but I can't leave my love for Scotland and most of all for Balloch, where I would really like to live. I have wonderful memories and I'll visit again in the summer. The site is just great.

Comments:    Hi there. The site is great, very informative. I'm looking forward to sailing on the Maid of the Loch.
I was born in the Vale hospital and spent the first fourteen years of my life living in the area before my whole family moved to Doncaster in South Yorkshire. I miss everything and will be visiting this site as often as possible to keep up with what's going on. I'm twenty two now, hoping to move back to Scotland before I hit thirty. Hello to anyone that may have attended the vale of Leven Academy with me between 1995 and 1998. Maybe I'll bump into you all again later.

Once again, great site. Thank you and goodbye from a soon-to-become repeat visitor.

Comments: I used to go to school on the Haldane estate around 1960/4.
It has been wonderful to see Balloch. Loch Lomond and the park were we used to spend time splashing around. I think the area was called Bal-ma ha (is that right?) Sunday lunch on the Maid of the Loch was a special treat. One day it would be great to return, after 40 years will I know the place.
Wonderful site, many thanks.

My Dad had two boats on the River Leven in the 1950's and my sister Theresa and I used to come down at the weekends from Glasgow to spend the weekend aboard his boats. We were good friends with Sammy Ferguson who ran the motor boat around the Lock with tourists and also with Johnny Clough and others. My husband and I were there in 2000 and we stayed at the Balloch Hotel overlooking the spot where my Dad had his boats.

Does anyone remember us, the Ross Girls? I have been living in the U.S.A. since 1956 when I emigrated from Scotland to Canada at the nd of 1954.

Hi, my name is Fiona and live in Mallorca but originally came from the Haldane, was home last month to visit the family. It´s lovely to come home and see everyone and all the local sights, especially the Loch. Even though i have lived in Mallorca for 25 years The Vale will alway be home. I have seen so many changes like alot of the flats in the Haldane knocked down. My dad George was well known by the locals as he was a butcher in the coop until 1972 and then he worked in Polaroid. My sister Carol works in theAntartex shop. Both my parents have passed on and it is still strange going home but i have still plenty of family there. I have a shop in Magaluf called Fiona´s Bakery and would love to see anyone who knows me come in and say hello. Bye for now Fiona.

Hi What a lovely site! I am a Scot living in Sydney,Australia. Left Scotland as an eleven year old and unfortunatley have never been able to get back. I stayed at Balloch at sometime in 1947. came here in 1948 but was born in Clydebank, bombed out in the blitz and attended 9 schools before leaving for OZ. I am really enjoying the interent and all the Scots' sites! Bye
